Ah Hai is one of the most important contemporary Chinese ink artist. In terms of skills, his works are characterized by the delicacy and exquisiteness of Gongbi Painting. Yet, in terms of emotions, they also reveal the rich connotations of free-sketch paintings. With brush and ink as his tools, paper as his medium, he achieved the reconstruction of the rules by destroying the past rules to realize the contemporary transformation of his works. In his thirty years of artistic practice, Ah Hai finally completed his own southern narrative: aesthetic, decadent, and emptiness. He uses his keen tentacles to perceive the world and to pursue poetic presentation. His paintings express a wanderer's recollection and praise of his spiritual home. As he grows older, A Hai's recent paintings have become more concise and calmer, reflecting his thoughts on life and death, which make them become closer to the essence of life.

阿海是中国当代重要的水墨艺术家，他的作品在表征上具有中国⼯笔画的细腻精致，但在情绪上又透露出写意画所独有的丰富意蕴。在这些以笔墨为中⼼、纸本为媒介的作品中，他通过对以往规则的破坏达到规则的重建，实现其作品的当代性转换。在三⼗年的艺术实践中，阿海最终完成了属于⾃⼰的南⽅叙事：唯美、颓废、虚⽆。他凭借敏锐的触须感知世界并追求诗意的呈现，他的画作表达了⼀个飘泊者对其精神家园的追忆和礼赞。随着年龄的增长，阿海的近作画面更趋洗练沉着，参入对生命与死亡的思考，洗尽铅华，更切近了生命的本质。
